Mr. Bob Martin is a multi-award-winning sports photographer specializing in shooting sports and action pictures for advertising, corporate and editorial clients.
During a career spanning the last thirty years, Mr. Martin has photographed every major sporting event from the last fifteen Summer and Winter Olympics to Elephant Polo and Horse Racing on ice. His work has taken him to the farthest corners of the world, and his photographs have been published in numerous publications including Sports Illustrated, Time, Newsweek, Life Magazine, Stern, Paris match, Bunte, L’Equipe, The Sunday Times and the New York Times to mention just a few.
During the London 2012 Olympics he was appointed as Photo Chief. He was a consultant on photographic issues to the Rio 2016 Olympic organizing committee.
Mr. Martin is currently consulting for the International Olympic Committee (IOC), looking at the Tokyo Olympics now and Beijing Winter Olympics in 2022.
Mr. Alexander Shtol is the Director of Photography at the Integrated Directorate of Photography, Rossiya Segodnya, Executive Director of Andrei Stenin International Photo Contest.
Mr. Shtol joined the Rossiya Segodnya team in 2010 as head of news photography; in 2014, after the Sochi Olympics, as head of the Integrated Photography Directorate. Previously, he worked as a photo editor for news photography at Reuters.
Mr. Anthony Edgar is well known to the Olympic Movement having been involved in the delivery of every Olympic Games since 1997. As Head of Media Operations at the International Olympic Committee (2002-2020) and Chairman of IOC Press Committee, he was the direct link between the IOC and the senior management of the world’s press and global television news organizations for almost 20 years.
He was awarded the prestigious Candido Cannavo Award at the Milan Sport Film Festival November 2018 and has been judge of the IAAF and AIPS Photography Awards. He was the creator and curator of the Best of the Olympic Games photographic exhibitions for the Olympic Museum and ran the Olympic Golden Rings Awards for the best television coverage of the Olympic Games. He was also the creator of the highly successful IOC Young Reporters Programme.
Mr. Edgar is currently a senior advisor for the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games.
Mr. Carlos Garcia Rawlins is the Chief Photographer of part of the Reuters' China team, based in Beijing, since early 2020.
Mr. Garcia became a freelance photographer in 2007. After more than twelve years working for Reuters based in Caracas, he covered Venezuela's story and many others around the region. His photography has as its center the people and how they interact with the community around them.
He has dedicated much of his career to in-depth features, always trying to show a human perspective of events that significantly impact our society.
Mr. Denis Paquin is the Deputy Director of Photography of the Associated Press, responsible for global sports coverage along with photo operations. A veteran of photojournalism, he has worked in Asia, Europe and North America as a photographer and photo manager for various organizations including the Associated Press, Reuters and United Press International. He has been involved in covering and planning 18 Olympic Games, seven World Cup soccer championships and eight U.S. presidential conventions and inaugurations. He has covered civil strife in Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia, traveled with presidents and prime ministers from countries around the world.
Mr. Dinesh Krishnan is the visual editor of The Hindu, one of the oldest English language newspapers from India. He heads a team of close to 50 staff photographers across India shooting for its 11 editions.
A BFA in Photography from University of Mysore, he joined the Hindustan Times as staff photographer in 1991. In 1995, he moved to BusinessWorld, where he worked for a decade. His next stint as editor of Better Photography, gave him the opportunity to create an environment for photo competitions, with independent jury members judging the Better Photography Photographer of the Year Award, amarquee event widely popular among photographers and the photography industry. Krishnan was part of these juries, and had the casting vote in case there was a tie.
In 2008, he returned to magazine journalism, joining Forbes India, the Indian avatar of Forbes, as a part of its founding team. In 2016, he moved to The Hindu.
Ezra Shaw has been working for Getty Images as a Staff Photographer since 1998. He began his career assisting many Sports Illustrated photographers both in London and New York City. After settling down in New York City, Shaw spent nearly ten years traveling the world with New York City as his base before relocating to Sydney, Australia in 2006 to experience what life “down under” had to offer. After spending nearly three years in Australia, Shaw relocated to Marin County in northern California.
His assignments have included both the Winter and Summer Olympic Games, the Super Bowl, World Series, World Cup, Tour de France, and numerous other events. His pictures have appeared in many publications around the world, and Shaw has won awards in the World Press Photo, NPPA Pictures of the Year, World Photography Awards, and Pictures of the Year International.
In addition to day-to-day game coverage, Shaw enjoys working on human interest feature stories in the sports world. The features have ranged from a 500-mile wheelchair race across Alaska focusing on a former gang member who lost the use of legs in a shooting, to a bike race that crossed 580 kilometers of the Simpson Desert in Australia.
Mr. Greg Baker is the Chief Photographer for China for Agence France-Presse, based in Beijing.
Mr. Baker has worked as news agency photographer in Asia since 1991 and has covered six Olympic Games, three Asian Games, the Football World Cup, Athletics World Championships and multiple Formula One and MotoGP races.
Mr. Grigory Dukor is the Head of Photo and Video Service, Russian News Agency TASS.
Mr. Dukor joined TASS in 2018. He has more than 30 years of experience in photography.
He began his career as commercial photographer and also worked as a freelancer for local media. In the early 1990s, he joined the Reuters News Agency and covered top news stories and key topics in politics, business and sports, as well as military conflicts and coups, the Olympics, championships and feature stories. He served as Reuters Chief Photographer for its Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS）team for the next 20 years, coordinating news coverage out of countries stretching across 11 time zones.
Mr. Dukor also held dozens of photojournalism training courses for professional photographers and picture editors around Russia and the CIS.
Ms. How Hwee Young is a Singaporean photojournalist who began her career with the Singapore Straits Times in 2001. She joined the European Pressphoto Agency (EPA) in 2004 and relocated to Beijing to join the China bureau in 2010. At the end of 2019, she returned to Singapore to focus on managing EPA's East Asia and Southeast Asia coverage as Regional Chief for Asia Pacific.
Her diverse coverage includes the Asian Tsunami, Socchi and Pyeongchang Winter Olympics and Beijing and Rio Summer Olympics. Her images have been published in major newspapers and magazines including the Time Magazine, New York Times, Guardian, British Times, among others.
She received a Pictures of the Year International (POYi) Award of Excellence in 2014 and an Award of Excellence from Communication Arts in 2005 for her work on the Asia Tsunami. Her pictures were exhibited at the La Quatrieme Image Exhibition in Paris and in the National Museum of Singapore. She was also a jury member of the 58th World Press Photo (WPP) contest for 2015 and was nominated for the Guardian Agency Photographer of the Year 2017.
Ms. Hiroko Ami is the Associate Editor of News Photo Section, Audio-Visual News Department.
After graduating from Claremont Graduate University in the US, she joined Kyodo News in 1994. Since then, she pursued a career as a staff photographer, covering general news, sports, and feature stories.
Since 2010, she has served as a photo editor and conducted schooling neophyte journalists lately.
Ms. Huang Wen serves as vice president of China Photo Group, and holds a PhD degree in Literature.
She has served as a jury member of the World Press Photo Contest in 2006, 2007 and 2016, a jury member of the Pictures of the Year in 2008, and jury chair of the China International Press Photo Contest from 2014 to 2016.
Mr. Lan Hongguang is the vice president of the Chinese Society of News Photography. He serves as deputy director of photographic news of Xinhua News Agency.
Mr. Lan has covered the Sydney, Athens and Beijing Olympic Games, Nagano and Pyeongchang Winter Olympic Games, and other major international sports events such as FISU World University Game. He’s a three-time winner of the China News Awards.
As a senior reporter and an expert in political and sports photojournalism, Mr. Lan has been working for Xinhua for 35 years. He worked as a resident photojournalist at Xinhua’s Tokyo Bureau from 1988 to 1992, and from 1995 to 1997.
Mr. Otavio Valle is the Photography Editor of Grupo Folha de S. Paulo and has served this occupation for 12 years.
Mr. Valle graduated in journalism from Unesp and holds a postgraduate degree in photography from Senac. With a 28-year career, he has worked in several Brazilian media.
He taught photojournalism at Unesp, Unip, USC and Unorp. In 2011 he held the solo exhibition "Cidade Adoniran", at Sesc São Paulo.
As photographer, Mr. Peer Grimm reported for more than 20 years for the Deutsche Presse Agentur (dpa) from Germany and from numerous top international sports events such as the Olympic Games, World Championships, Tour de France and political highlights such as the G7 and G20 summits.
Mr. Grimm has been head of Photo at the Deutsche Presse Agentur since 2013.
Mr. Wang Jianhua is a member of the Image Industry Committee of the China Photographers Association, and director of the Professional Committee of Drone Photography of the China Press Photographers Association.
He serves as the director of the Editor-in-Chief Office of Photographic News of Xinhua News Agency.
Mr. Wang covered major international events including Beijing APEC, Beijing and London Olympic Games, Shanghai World Expo, 2008 Sichuan earthquake, 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami, etc.
He worked as a resident photojournalist of the Middle East Bureau of Xinhua from 2000 to 2002.
Mr. Zhou Jie has been serving as a member of the International Olympic Committee Press Commission since 2016. He was a judge of the International Sports Journalists Association Media Awards in 2017.
With over 30 years working experience in sports journalism, Mr. Zhou is a senior editor and deputy director of sports news of Xinhua News Agency.
He has served as the first resident sports reporter of Xinhua in London from July 1998 to July 2000, and has covered all the summer and winter Olympic Games since 1992.
